Patna: Union Minister and LJP (R) National President Chirag Paswan will spend the night among flood victims in Kosi, visiting various areas to meet those affected. After attending a function organized by the party’s SC-ST cell in Patna, Paswan announced his plans to be with the displaced individuals, understand their problems, and later submit a report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the situation.
Paswan emphasized that both the central and state governments are monitoring the floods in Bihar, with Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai actively involved in the review process. Responding to the opposition’s demand to declare the floods a national disaster, he criticized opposition leaders for being absent during the crisis, stating that they are out of the country while the people of Bihar face challenges.
He also addressed a recent statement by Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, calling it objectionable and highlighting the need for political discourse to focus on policies rather than personal attacks. Paswan remarked on the negative implications of such behavior for the younger generation, expressing concern over the prevailing bitterness in political conversations.
Regarding the electoral strategies of his uncle Pashupati Paras, Paswan stated that he is welcome to contest elections on all 243 seats in the state. However, he refrained from elaborating further. Additionally, on the subject of contesting elections in Jharkhand, Paswan mentioned that no decision has been made yet, indicating that discussions will take place within the state committee as the election notification approaches.
