Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) has inaugurated the second phase of the prestigious Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp, a five-day initiative aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial skills and creative thinking among students across India.
Launched on Monday, the event is part of a national effort spearheaded by the Ministry of Education, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Innovation Cell (MIC), under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The bootcamp seeks to equip student innovators with the expertise to develop market-ready products and sustainable startups.
The national-level inauguration was led virtually by AICTE Chairman Prof T G Sitharam from New Delhi, with a live broadcast across official platforms. The local inauguration at CIMP was attended by Nikhil Dhanraj Nippanikar, Director of Handloom & Sericulture, Department of Industries, who served as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer of CIMP, Abhishek Ranjan, Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education, and Madan Mohan Sharan Singh, Manager of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at AICTE.
Since its inception in June 2023, the IDE Bootcamp has conducted 35 workshops, training over 7,000 student innovators and faculty mentors. CIMP has hosted the initiative twice, having previously organised the first edition for the Bihar region.
The latest phase of the bootcamp brings together 150 student innovators and Innovation Ambassadors from institutions nationwide, including those enrolled under the Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Over five days, participants will engage in hands-on training covering design thinking, business model development, prototype creation, financial literacy, technology commercialization, intellectual property rights, startup funding, and pitching strategies.
Speaking at the event, chief guest Nippanikar encouraged participants to embrace innovation. “You are in an environment where you can harness your potential without fear. This bootcamp provides an opportunity to expand your horizons, learn how to innovate effectively, and bring your ideas to market. Innovation is no longer just a buzzword—it is essential for survival,” he said.
CIMP, known for its strong support of startups through its incubation centre, CIMP-BIIF, continues to play a crucial role in fostering Bihar’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. “We are proud to be part of this transformative initiative for the second time,” said Kumod Kumar. “The IDE Bootcamp will not only enhance students’ skills but also contribute to India’s broader innovation landscape.”
The bootcamp is part of the government’s broader effort to position India as a global leader in innovation. By equipping young minds with the necessary tools and mentorship, the initiative aims to transform ideas into impactful ventures that contribute to the country’s economic growth and technological advancement.
