CIMP Hosts SPARDHA 2025, Draws 500 Students for Inter-College Sports Event

Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) hosted SPARDHA 2025, its annual inter-college sports event, on Thursday, bringing together around 500 students from institutions across the city. The two-day event features competitions in multiple sports, fostering a spirit of enthusiasm and teamwork among participants.

Students from Patna University, Patliputra University, Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, LN Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change (LNMI), Amity University, Patna Science College, and St Xavier’s College of Management are participating in the event.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the morning, with Prof Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, Prof Sibananda Senapati, Sports Coordinator at CIMP, and Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer of CIMP, presiding over the event. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a friendly badminton match between faculty members marked the start of the tournament.

SPARDHA 2025 includes a range of sports competitions, with 125 participants in badminton, 50 in carrom, 70 in the online game BGMI, 55 in chess, 40 in table tennis, and 14 teams competing in tug-of-war. The volleyball tournament features four teams, with the first semi-final between RKD College and LNMI Patna resulting in a win for RKD College. The team will face the winner of the second semi-final between CIMP and St Xavier’s College in the final on Friday.

The event, which has a prize pool of Rs 1 lakh, also emphasizes inclusivity, with 29.5% female participation. Most of the league and first-round matches took place on Thursday, with the remaining semi-finals and finals scheduled for Friday. The tournament will conclude with a prize and certificate distribution ceremony.
