Patna: The All India Civil Services Music, Dance and Short Drama Competition 2024-25 is set to commence on February 25 at Urja Auditorium, Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna. Organised by the Bihar Secretariat Sports Foundation under the guidance of the Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board, Government of India, the event will run until March 3.
Bringing together government officials from across the country, the competition will feature 18 teams from different states, with around 750 participants showcasing their talents in music, dance, and drama. The unique initiative highlights the artistic abilities of civil servants beyond their administrative roles.
Bihar Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena will inaugurate the event at 5:30 pm on February 25, with Bihar Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit attending as a special guest.
The competition will unfold over several days, with short drama performances from February 25 to 27, music contests from February 28 to March 2, and dance performances on March 3. Participants will compete in various categories, including Hindustani, Carnatic, western, and folk singing, instrumental music, and short drama. Awards will be presented in all genres, recognising outstanding performances in acting and singing.
The event is being chaired by Pranav Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Art, Culture and Youth, with Rahul Kumar, Special Secretary of the Finance Department, serving as the secretary of the organising committee.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the competition, medical staff—including a doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, and ambulance driver—will be on standby throughout the event.
