Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Wednesday, affirmed his commitment to attend the upcoming meeting of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, emphasizing his non-aspirational stance for personal gains. Nitish reiterated that he had expressed his incapacity to participate in the proposed meeting on Wednesday due to his unwell health.
Addressing concerns about his future attendance, Nitish categorically stated that there is no question of him abstaining from future meetings. He urged for swift finalization of matters, emphasizing that the current moment is not conducive for delays. Brushing off any ambitions for the post of Prime Minister, Nitish confirmed his attendance at the Eastern Regional Council meeting scheduled to take place in Patna on December 10.
Reflecting on the recently concluded assembly elections, CM Nitish asserted that victory and defeat are contingent upon election results, acknowledging the performance of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh, and Congress in Telangana. In reference to his own role, Nitish emphasized his commitment to working in the state’s interest, underscoring a sense of unity among his team.
Addressing recent health concerns, Nitish disclosed that his illness, though relatively mild with a temperature just under 100 degrees, prompted a deliberate five-day hiatus spent at home. During this period, he touched upon the subject of a caste census, highlighting the potential benefits such an endeavor could bring to the country.
In a visionary appeal, Nitish pondered on the developmental strides Bihar could achieve if bestowed with special state category status. Referring to Bihar as a mythological land, he expressed a desire for the state to attain special recognition. In a symbolic gesture, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar during the course of the discussion.
