CM Nitish Kumar Inspects Progress of Bapu Tower Construction in Gardnibagh
Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday conducted an inspection of the Bapu Tower under construction in Gardnibagh. During his visit, he reviewed the progress on both the fifth and first floors. Notably, he watched a film about Mahatma Gandhi’s life journey on a rotating screen in the orientation hall.
Kumar Ravi, Secretary of the Building Department, provided the Chief Minister with detailed information regarding the construction. He assured that the work is advancing swiftly and is currently receiving finishing touches. Visitors to Bapu Tower will be able to sit in the orientation hall and learn about Gandhi’s biography, ideals, and actions, as well as the historical significance of Bihar. The Chief Minister also reviewed various facilities including an auditorium, waiting rooms, lounges, galleries, a research center, and visitor amenities.
During the inspection, CM Nitish directed the Secretary of the Building Department to expedite the construction process. He emphasized that once completed, Bapu Tower will serve as an educational site where the new generation can learn about Gandhi’s life, his thoughts, and his ideals. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of presenting historical events related to Gandhi, his views, and his role in the freedom struggle, clearly in both Hindi and English. He also insisted on maintaining a green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing campus.
Speaking to reporters post-inspection, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that Bapu Tower is shaping up well and is on track to be completed within one and a half months. He mentioned that the tower would be inaugurated soon after its completion.
The inspection was attended by several key officials, including Minister of Water Resources Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minister of Building Construction Jayant Raj, MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, Secretary of the Building Department Kumar Ravi, Special Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Dr. Chandrasekhar Singh, District Magistrate of Patna Shirsat Kapil Ashok, along with other senior officers and engineers.
