Patna: A speeding Innova car ploughed into pedestrians and vehicles on Bailey Road in Kotwali area late on Sunday evening, injuring more than half a dozen people and causing widespread chaos.
Police said six of the injured were discharged after treatment, while three remain hospitalised in critical condition. The driver, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time, has been taken into custody.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle overturned on the road, drawing a large crowd and causing panic in the area.
According to initial investigations, the car belongs to a local iron businessman, and it was his son who was behind the wheel. The driver was also injured in the crash.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and have not ruled out further charges.
