Patna: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday visited flood-affected areas of Vaishali and Saran districts to assess the situation and review relief operations.

The Chief Minister first reached Jadua in Hajipur, where he inspected a relief camp and reviewed the facilities being provided to flood-affected residents. He also took information from officials about the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Choudhary subsequently inspected a community kitchen being operated for flood victims. He checked the arrangements for providing food and other essential facilities to people staying at the relief camp.

Inspects Anganwadi Centre, Meets Children

During his visit, the Chief Minister also inspected an Anganwadi centre operating inside the relief camp and interacted with the children. He reviewed the arrangements being made for children affected by the floods.

The Chief Minister also distributed Rs 4 lakh assistance cheques to the dependents of around half a dozen people who died by drowning during the floods.

Relief materials were also distributed among flood-affected families during the visit.

‘Ganga Water Level Has Fallen by 17-18 cm’

Speaking to the media after the inspection, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that some difficulties are inevitable during a natural disaster, but the situation is gradually improving.

He said the water level of the Ganga has fallen by around 17 to 18 centimetres and continues to recede.

“There will be some difficulties during a disaster, but the water level is continuously going down. The situation is under control and officials are working on the ground,” the Chief Minister said.

CM Expects Relief Within 2-3 Days

Choudhary expressed hope that the flood situation would improve further over the next two to three days.

He said the administration is closely monitoring the situation and working continuously to provide relief to affected people. The Chief Minister also directed officials to remain alert and ensure that essential assistance reaches flood-hit families without delay.
