Concerns Raised Over Exclusion of Technical Graduates in Bihar Teacher Recruitment Notification

Bihar Teachers’ Transfer Process Begins, App Crashes Amid High Demand

Patna: Many BCA and Computer Science graduate degree students have claimed that they are unable to apply for the second phase of teacher reinstatement, as per the recent notification issued by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).

Expressing their discontent, the Bihar Primary Youth Teachers Association has submitted a memorandum to KK Pathak, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department.

Dipankar Gaurav and Meeku Pal, the state president and spokesperson of the association, said ina statement that the previous sixth-phase teacher manual and reinstatement specifically mentioned that candidates with BCA degrees could become teachers of mathematics and science.

Moreover, graduates in BCA computer science were eligible for teaching positions in these subjects as well. The omission of such clarity in the recent notification has created confusion and concern among technical education graduates.

Gaurav further emphasized that the lack of explicit mention of technical education graduates in the advertisement for the second phase of teacher recruitment has created a dilemma. This is especially critical since the teacher manual already includes provisions for technical education graduates to become teachers in mathematics and science subjects for classes six-eight.

He further asserted that it would be a disservice to exclude technical education graduate candidates from the teacher appointment recruitment process conducted by the BPSC. The teacher leaders, in their memorandum, urged authorities to reconsider and include students with BCA, BBA, and B.Tech qualifications in the teacher appointment recruitment process.

The memorandum was submitted by Bikram Kumar, Juhi, Nitish, and Deepak Kshatriya, to show the collective concern and demand for equitable opportunities in teacher recruitment for technical education graduates.
