Congress Leaders Pay Floral Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on His 77th Death Anniversary at Sadaqat Ashram

Patna: A floral tribute ceremony was held at the Bihar Congress headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, to mark the 77th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Congress leaders gathered at the venue to pay their respects, offering garlands at the statue of the Father of the Nation.

During the ceremony, Kaukab Qadri, former acting president of the Bihar Congress, remarked that the same individuals responsible for Gandhi’s assassination are now attempting to undermine his ideological legacy. He highlighted Gandhi’s global impact, pointing out how his principles of truth and non-violence were adopted by leaders worldwide, leading to victories for their countries. Qadri emphasised the importance of passing on Gandhi’s values to future generations and incorporating his teachings into daily life.

Former minister Kripanath Pathak also spoke at the event, calling Mahatma Gandhi’s principles timeless and eternal. He noted that Gandhi was not just a man but an idea, and such ideas endure forever. Pathak further stated that it was through Gandhian philosophy that India embraced non-violence and Satyagraha, which resonated across the world and helped the nation progress.

Other senior Congress leaders who participated in the tribute included Premchandra Mishra, treasurer Nirmal Verma, Lal Babu Lal, Brajesh Prasad Munan, Harkhu Jha, Anand Madhav, Dr. Snehashish Vardhan Pandey, Dr. Sanjay Yadav, Saurabh Sinha, Nidhi Pandey, Ashutosh Sharma, Rajkishore Singh, Dr. Madhubala, Uday Shankar Patel, Raj Chhaviraj, Vimlesh Tiwari, Ramashankar Pandey, Nadeem Ansari, Siddharth Kshatriya, Aditya Paswan, Firoz Hasan, Vishwanath Baitha, Md. Haider Alam, Md. Shahnawaz, Abdul Baqi Sajjan, and Mritunjay Kumar Singh, among others.
