Patna: Deepesh Gupta fell just short of a double century in Bihar’s match against Rajasthan in the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Cricket Tournament at Moinul Haque Stadium. Starting the second day at 255 for 3, Bihar posted an impressive total of 467 runs in their first innings before being bowled out.
Deepesh was the standout performer, scoring 183 runs, supported by Prithvi Raj’s 128 and Satyam’s 48. Other contributions came from Suman Kumar (22), Aditya Raj (19), and Parth Yadav (5). Taufik remained unbeaten, while Ayush Kumar Singh and Shashwat Giri added 4 runs each. For Rajasthan, Abbas Shrimali led the bowling attack with 5 wickets for 94 runs, while Jatin claimed 2 for 131. Gulav Singh and Parth Yadav each took 1 wicket.
By the end of the second day’s play, Rajasthan had reached 70 for 1 in 29 overs, still trailing by 397 runs. Manay Kataria scored 26 runs before being dismissed, while Parth Yadav remained unbeaten on 42 alongside captain Tausit, who is on 1. Suman Kumar was the lone wicket-taker for Bihar, conceding 14 runs.
With a strong lead, Bihar is in a commanding position as the match heads into its third day.
