Patna: Passengers travelling between Bihar and Bengaluru will soon have a regular daily train service, with the Railways deciding to replace the existing Danapur-SMVT Bengaluru special train with a regular Express service.
The new Danapur-SMVT Bengaluru-Danapur Express, Train Nos. 22365/22366, will operate daily in both directions from September 2026.
Regular service from Danapur will begin on September 1, while the return service from SMVT Bengaluru will commence on September 3.
Danapur-Bengaluru Express schedule
Train No. 22365 Danapur-SMVT Bengaluru Express will depart from Danapur daily at 2:45 pm from September 1.
The train will halt at several major stations along the route, including:
- Ara: 3:16 pm
- Buxar: 4:13 pm
- DDU: 5:53 pm
- Prayagraj Chheoki: 8:25 pm
- Jabalpur: 3:25 am on the second day
- Itarsi: 7:20 am
- Nagpur: 12:05 pm
- Vijayawada: 11:35 pm
- Perambur/Chennai: 7:55 am on the third day
- Katpadi: 9:50 am
The train will reach SMVT Bengaluru at 2:30 pm.
Return service from Bengaluru
Train No. 22366 SMVT Bengaluru-Danapur Express will operate daily from September 3.
It will depart SMVT Bengaluru at 11:50 pm and arrive at Danapur at 12:15 am.
Major scheduled stops on the return journey include:
- Katpadi: 3:50 am on the second day
- Perambur/Chennai: 5:55 am
- Vijayawada: 2:55 pm
- Nagpur: 1:00 am on the third day
- Itarsi: 5:50 am
- Jabalpur: 9:00 am
- Prayagraj Chheoki: 5:30 pm
- DDU: 8:58 pm
- Buxar: 10:10 pm
- Ara: 11:01 pm
The train will reach Danapur at 12:15 am.
24-coach train to connect Bihar with Bengaluru
The regular Express will comprise 24 coaches, including:
- 2 LSLRD coaches
- 7 General Second Class coaches
- 10 Sleeper Class coaches
- 3 AC 3-Tier coaches
- 2 AC 2-Tier coaches
The conversion from a special to a regular daily service is expected to provide more consistent connectivity for passengers travelling between Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The new service will also benefit passengers travelling to major cities such as Prayagraj, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Vijayawada and Chennai along the route.
