Patna: The Railways have extended the operational period of two special train services connecting Bihar with Karnataka and Jharkhand, offering relief to passengers amid growing travel demand.
East Central Railway announced that the Danapur-SMVB (Bengaluru) Special and the Saraigarh-Deoghar MEMU Special will continue operating until July 15. Railway officials urged passengers to make use of the extended services.
Danapur-Bengaluru Special Extended
According to East Central Railway, Train No. 03251/03252 Danapur-SMVB (Bengaluru)-Danapur Special will now run until July 15.
The train will operate via Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU), Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Nagpur and Vijayawada before reaching Bengaluru.
Railway officials said the service, which was previously routed through Perambur and Katpadi, will now operate via Guntur, Gooty, Dharmavaram and Yelahanka.
Schedule
- Train No. 03251 Danapur-SMVB Special will depart daily from Danapur at 3:00 PM between June 1 and July 15.
- The train will arrive in Bengaluru at 2:30 PM on the third day.
For the return journey:
- Train No. 03252 SMVB-Danapur Special will depart daily from Bengaluru at 11:50 PM between June 3 and July 18.
- It will reach Danapur at 11:55 PM on the third day.
Additional Coaches Added
To accommodate increased passenger demand, the Railways have augmented the train’s composition with:
- Two AC 2-tier coaches
- Three AC 3-tier coaches
- Ten Sleeper Class coaches
- Seven General Class coaches
Saraigarh-Deoghar MEMU Special Also Extended
East Central Railway has also extended the operation of Train No. 05573/05574 Saraigarh-Deoghar-Saraigarh MEMU Special until July 15.
The service will operate daily from June 1 and run through Supaul, Saharsa, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mansi, Khagaria, Munger, Sultanganj, Bhagalpur and Banka.
Schedule
- Train No. 05573 Saraigarh-Deoghar Special will depart Saraigarh at 3:05 AM and arrive in Deoghar at 11:20 AM.
- Train No. 05574 Deoghar-Saraigarh Special will leave Deoghar at 11:35 AM and reach Saraigarh at 10:15 PM.
Railway officials said the extension had been approved in response to rising passenger volumes and sustained demand on both routes.
The move is expected to provide greater convenience for travellers journeying between Bihar and Bengaluru, as well as those travelling between Bihar and Jharkhand.
