Patna: Patna District Magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh on Monday reviewed the progress of the Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor Construction Project, directing officials to accelerate compensation payments and ensure the removal of any remaining obstacles.
During the review, it was reported that land acquisition action has been completed in 22 villages, with 104.005 acres acquired for which compensation is payable. So far, Rs 136.64 crore has been distributed among 863 tenants. Officials from the construction agency informed the meeting that, following the magistrate’s earlier directives, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Danapur has cleared encroachments from government land.
Dr Singh instructed the SDO to carry out land measurement and demarcation to facilitate the relocation and reconstruction of boundary walls near key sites, including the Air Force Station in Bihta, the NDRF building on BIADA land near ESIC Hospital in Bihta, and another central government structure near Shivala Chowk. These measures, he said, are necessary to ensure uninterrupted progress in the elevated corridor’s construction.
To address traffic concerns during the project’s execution, the District Magistrate directed the Superintendent of Police, Traffic, to put in place an alternative traffic plan. Additionally, the District Land Acquisition Officer was asked to expedite pending compensation payments. Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Railways, Forest Department, and District Administration were instructed to enhance coordination to speed up the project’s execution.
Danapur-Bihta-Koilwar Road Project Also Reviewed
The meeting also assessed progress on the Danapur-Bihta-Koilwar non-elevated road project. The review found that 45.59 acres have been acquired across five mauzas, with Rs 130.77 crore disbursed among 401 raiyats. NHAI officials confirmed that there are no obstructions at the site and that construction is proceeding smoothly. Dr Singh directed the District Land Acquisition Officer to ensure swift compensation payments to the remaining affected landowners.
Patna-Gaya-Dobhi Highway Moving Ahead Without Delays
The District Magistrate also reviewed the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi (NH-83) project, where officials reported no ongoing hindrances to construction. According to the executing agency, all administrative obstacles have already been resolved, and connectivity of the highway is in place. Dr Singh reiterated the need for speedy compensation payments to remaining landowners affected by the project.
