Mumbai/Patna: Indian Railways has announced additional train services from Bihar to Pune and Mumbai in response to increased passenger demand, aiming to ease congestion and improve long-distance connectivity.
A one-way special train will run from Danapur to Hadapsar (Pune) on March 23, operating via key stations including Ara, Buxar, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj Chhivki and Jabalpur.
Train No. 03276 will depart Danapur at 8.55pm and is scheduled to reach Hadapsar at 5am on March 25. The train will consist of 18 sleeper-class coaches, providing relief to passengers travelling long distances.
Key halts and schedule
After leaving Danapur, the train will stop at Ara at 9.27pm and Buxar at 10.09pm. It will reach Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction shortly after midnight, followed by Prayagraj Chhivki at 2.45am and Jabalpur at 9am before continuing towards Pune.
Railway officials said the special service has been introduced to manage heavy passenger flow and offer additional travel options.
Weekly summer train to Mumbai
In addition, a summer special train will operate between Samastipur and Mumbai from April 23 to July 16.
Train No. 01044 will depart Samastipur every Thursday at 3am, while the return service from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will run every Tuesday. The train will pass through Danapur and Muzaffarpur en route.
The summer service will comprise 22 coaches, including AC 3-tier, AC 2-tier and first-class compartments, catering to passengers seeking more comfortable travel during the peak season.
Officials said the additional services are part of efforts to accommodate rising travel demand and ensure smoother journeys for passengers from Bihar to major cities.
