Patna: The Northeast Railway has announced changes to the schedules of 22 trains, including three Amrit Bharat Express services, affecting several key routes originating and terminating in Bihar. The adjustments, aimed at improving timetable efficiency and reducing delays, will apply only to the starting and ending stations rather than the entire route.
From April 1, passengers travelling from Darbhanga will notice slight changes in departure times. The Darbhanga–New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express will now depart at 8:15 am instead of 8:20 am, while the Darbhanga–Amritsar Jan Nayak Express will leave five minutes earlier at 5:15 pm. Similarly, the Jaynagar–Amritsar Shaheed Express and Saharsa–Anand Vihar Terminal Express will also depart five minutes ahead of their previous schedules.
Additional adjustments will take effect in the first week of April. The Darbhanga–Anand Vihar Terminal Express will now depart at 2:55 pm from April 2, while the Darbhanga–Ahmedabad Express will leave at 4:20 am from April 3, instead of 4:30 am. The Saryu Yamuna Express, running from Jaynagar to Amritsar, will also leave five minutes earlier. Two Amrit Bharat Express trains, along with the Saharsa–Amritsar Express, have also seen revised schedules.
The changes extend to arrival times at terminating stations. Services including Pune–Darbhanga, New Delhi–Darbhanga, Amritsar–Darbhanga, Ahmedabad–Darbhanga, and the Madar–Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express will reach Darbhanga at new times. Similarly, trains arriving from Amritsar–Jaynagar, LTT–Jaynagar, LTT–Raxaul, and Anand Vihar have updated schedules.
Railway officials have emphasised that these changes are intended to enhance operational efficiency and reduce delays, benefiting both daily commuters and long-distance travellers.
