Mumbai: Deepika Padukone has shared an enthusiastic review of Dhurandhar, the latest action thriller led by her husband, Ranveer Singh, as the film opened in cinemas on Thursday to a robust audience and critical acclaim.
Released on December 5, the Aditya Dhar-directed film has been praised for its sweeping scale, Hollywood-style visual ambition and relentless action set pieces. Dhurandhar revisits the 1999 Kandahar hijacking, with Singh fronting a cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and young actor Sara Arjun.
Padukone, who attended an early screening, shared her response on Instagram almost immediately. Posting the film’s poster to her story, she wrote: “I’ve watched Dhurandhar, and every minute of its 3 hours 36 minutes is worth it. So do yourself a favour and go to the cinema right now!”

The film also made a strong start at the box office. According to Sacnilk estimates, Dhurandhar had collected Rs. 21.77 crore by 8:00 p.m. on opening day, with trade analysts predicting a total of Rs. 24–25 crore once late-night shows were accounted for. Final figures are expected after the day’s close.
