Deputy CM Hails Narendra Modi Government’s Support for Army at Vednam Utsav in Motihari

Motihari / Patna : Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary attended the final day of the Shaurya Vednam Utsav, an event celebrating military valour, in Motihari. Welcomed by army personnel, he inaugurated the programme alongside MP Radha Mohan Singh and Brigadier Vikas Bhardwaj by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Soldiers showcased a series of impressive performances, including a daring bike stunt show, in front of the gathered dignitaries. Addressing the audience, Samrat Choudhary took aim at previous governments, recalling his father’s participation in three wars. He claimed that, at one point, Indian soldiers lacked even basic necessities like proper footwear while serving in extreme conditions, including in the Galwan Valley.

“Modi Government Has Empowered the Army”
The Deputy CM credited the Modi-led government for significantly improving conditions for the armed forces since 2014. He highlighted the provision of bulletproof jackets and other essential equipment, arguing that soldiers now have the autonomy to respond to threats without waiting for higher orders.

On Women’s Day, Samrat Choudhary also praised the role of women in the workforce, particularly in defence. He pointed to the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government’s policy of 50% reservation for women, stating that women today are not only managing homes but also guarding the nation’s borders.

Weapons Exhibition and Women in the Forces
Following the event, Choudhary visited a weapons exhibition hosted by the army. Navy official Ashish Srivastava briefed attendees on naval operations, while MP Radha Mohan Singh commended the increasing role of women in the forces.

Wing Commander Dimple Singh Bhati, a member of the Dare Devils motorcycle stunt team, shared her journey of overcoming societal barriers to serve in the military. “There was a time when I doubted whether I could ever serve the country. But with my family’s support, I stepped out, and today, I stand before you,” she said.

The event concluded with celebrations of military strength and the contributions of women in defence, underlining the government’s commitment to modernising India’s armed forces.
