Patna : Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, has hinted at forthcoming decisions regarding the concerns raised by HAM (S) patron and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, indicating that discussions are underway to address the issue promptly. Chaudhary affirmed that deliberations will be held on Manjhi’s demands before arriving at a resolution.
Additionally, Chaudhary assumed responsibility for the Finance Department today, marking a significant transition in his portfolio. In discussions with the media after assuming charge at the Finance Department, Chaudhary reiterated efforts to address Manjhi’s grievances. Regarding the forthcoming floor test in Bihar, Chaudhary affirmed the solid majority held by the BJP-JD (U) alliance, with Manjhi’s faction providing additional support as a third party.
With a combined majority of 128 MLAs across three parties, Chaudhary emphasized the futility of attempts to disrupt the prevailing political equilibrium. Allegations of MLA relocation to Hyderabad, purportedly to preempt political coercion, were also alluded to during Chaudhary’s interactions with the press.
Responding to queries regarding former deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s involvement in the trust vote, Chaudhary refrained from direct commentary, suggesting that Tejashwi’s actions are subject to his interpretation. He also highlighted reports of certain individuals escorting their MLAs to Hyderabad, alluding to apprehensions surrounding potential political maneuvers.
Concurrently, Manjhi’s son Santosh Kumar Suman took charge of the Information Technology Minister and the SC-ST Department. Expressing confidence in his newfound responsibilities, Suman dismissed any reservations, asserting his contentment with the departments allotted to him. He emphasized the singular nature of departmental assignments, underlining the impossibility of every minister obtaining multiple portfolios.
