Patna: The Bihar government has announced an extension for the application period of the 11th phase of the Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana, changing the deadline from September 27 to October 15, 2024. Transport Department Minister Sheela Kumari stated that this extension aims to enhance employment opportunities and improve transportation facilities in rural areas. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by the new deadline, with the final selection list set to be published on November 11, 2024.

Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal emphasized the importance of achieving 100% application rates across all districts. He noted that those who were previously unable to apply due to various reasons have been given this additional opportunity. District officials have been directed to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are selected and that the application process is carried out effectively.

Under the Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana, district-wise vacancies against the remaining target of 12,500 have been released. Vacancies include 1,008 in Muzaffarpur, 829 in Saran, 824 in East Champaran, 820 in Madhubani, 743 in West Champaran, 710 in Darbhanga, 657 in Patna, 548 in Vaishali, 503 in Siwan, and 480 in Banka. Applications will only be accepted from Panchayats where vacancies exist, and those submitted for non-existent vacancies will be automatically invalidated.

Since its inception, the scheme has successfully linked over 44,754 beneficiaries to employment, facilitating better transportation between villages and cities. The main goal of the Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana is to make passenger transport systems more accessible in rural areas while promoting job creation. Under this scheme, a total of seven eligible beneficiaries are selected per Panchayat, providing grants for purchasing vehicles, including e-rickshaws and ambulances, with subsidies up to 50% of the purchase price.

The extended timeline includes the last date to apply by October 15, preparation of Panchayat-wise and category-wise priority lists from October 16 to 18, publication of the selection list on October 24, invitation of complaints from October 25 to November 4, resolution of complaints on November 5, and publication of the final selected list on November 11. Selection letters will be distributed from November 12 to 19, with applications for grant receipts starting from November 20, and payments processed within seven days of application receipt.

  • 🎥🔥 Bihar Me Lalu Aur Balu!

On Day 5 — the grand finale of the winter session — the House turned lively the moment JD (U)’s oldest MLA, Vijendra Yadav, took the mic.
💬 Walking down memory lane, he recalled an old saying from the days of Bihar’s division: “Bihar mein ab bas Lalu, aaloo aur balu bacha hai.”
The remark sparked laughter, surprise, and a ripple of murmurs across the House.
But then came the twist👇
🌟 He immediately added that under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership, Bihar has travelled far beyond such stereotypes — and that today’s Bihar no longer fits those old punchlines.
The House ended the session with a mix of nostalgia, humour and political punch — a perfect finale to the winter session!

  • 🚨🏛️ RABRI DEVI WALKS OUT — “EMERGENCY-LIKE SITUATION IN BIHAR!”

Drama erupted in the Bihar Legislative Council today as former CM Rabri Devi staged a walkout, accusing the government of silencing the opposition.
🎙️ Outside the House, she hit out sharply: “Opposition ko bolne nahi diya jaa raha… Rajya mein emergency jaisi sthiti bana di gayi hai!”
RJD’s Abdul Bari Siddiqui backed her fiercely, saying:
💥 “Democracy is being murdered. Our voices are being suppressed.”
🔥 The opposition claims their questions are being blocked…
🔥 The ruling side insists everything is “in order.”
The clash leaves one big question:
👉 Is Bihar’s winter session turning into a political pressure cooker?
