Patna: Commuters travelling between Patna, Biharsharif and Nawada will have to use alternative routes for the next 30 days as the Fatuha-Daniyawan road has been closed for repair work.
The closure has been imposed to facilitate repairs to the expansion joint of the bridge over the Dhowa/Kolhar river. The traffic diversion will remain in effect until the repair work is completed.
The traffic police have issued alternative routes for vehicles travelling in both directions and advised motorists to avoid the closed stretch.
Why Has the Fatuha-Daniyawan Road Been Closed?
The bridge over the Dhowa/Kolhar river requires repairs to its expansion joint. The road has been closed to vehicular movement to allow the work to be carried out safely.
According to the traffic police, the temporary arrangement will remain in place for around 30 days.
The diversion is also intended to prevent congestion and traffic jams around the repair site while allowing construction work to proceed without disruption.
New Route From Patna to Biharsharif and Nawada
Vehicles travelling from Patna towards Biharsharif and Nawada will have to take an alternative route after reaching Fatuha.
According to the traffic police, vehicles will move from Fatuha towards the New Bypass and then continue via Bakhtiyarpur and Harnaut before proceeding towards their destinations.
Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and account for the additional travel distance and time.
Route for Vehicles Coming From Daniyawan to Patna
A separate alternative route has been prescribed for vehicles travelling from Daniyawan towards Patna.
Such vehicles have been advised to use the Bihta-Sarmera road during the period of the closure.
The traffic diversion will remain operational until the bridge repair work is completed and normal movement is restored on the Fatuha-Daniyawan road.

The road closure and traffic diversion are temporary measures linked to the bridge repair work.
Traffic police have appealed to motorists to follow the designated alternative routes and avoid attempting to use the closed stretch.
