First Parikrama in Simaria Kalpvas Mela Draws Thousands of Devotees in Begusarai
Begusarai: The first Parikrama of the State Kalpvas Mela was held on the banks of the Ganga in Simaria, Begusarai, marking Dhanteras and Dhanvantari Jayanti. Thousands of devotees joined the Parikrama Yatra, led by Swami Chidatman Ji from Sarvamangala Siddhashram, celebrating with chants of “Govind Hare Gopal Hare Jai Jai Pawan Simaria Dham Hare.”
The Shobha Yatra began at Siddhashram, passing through the main market, Bind Toli, the primary bathing ghat, and Ramghat before returning to its starting point. Devotees held religious flags, showered rice and flowers, and marched in a joyful procession. The local administration, including magistrates and police officers, was present to manage the large crowd, though the journey was marked by some disorder as roads were not properly cleaned and facilities for the saints were lacking.
At Siddhashram, Swami Chidatman Ji spoke to the devotees, highlighting Simaria’s spiritual significance, as it is said to be the land where Amrit was distributed after the Samudra Manthan and where King Janak performed Kalpavas and Yagna. Participating in the Parikrama during the holy month of Kartik, he explained, holds immense spiritual value, bringing blessings equal to the fruits of the Ashwamedha Yagna.
The event saw the presence of Sarvamangal’s manager Ravindra Brahmachari, General Secretary Rajkishore Prasad Singh, Secretary Dinesh Prasad Singh, Treasurer Naveen Prasad Singh, and other devotees, all joining in this spiritual celebration.
