Patna : Five people, including hospital staff, have been arrested in connection with the murder of Asia Hospital director Surbhi Raj, who was shot six times in her chamber on Saturday. Sources suggest that hospital employees may have been involved, though the police have yet to make an official statement. A formal disclosure of the case is expected later today.

Brutal Killing with Signs of Assault

Surbhi Raj was found dead in her office at Asia Hospital, Patna, with multiple bullet wounds. Investigators suspect she may have been assaulted before her death, as her face was swollen. Her father, Rajesh Sinha, lodged a police complaint soon after the murder.

The police are exploring the possibility of an insider’s involvement. Rajesh Sinha has alleged that some hospital staff may have been part of a conspiracy. “There was tension between my son-in-law and some doctors at the hospital. I believe this was a pre-planned murder,” he said.

Conflicting Statements and Delayed Response

Rajesh Sinha recounted that he received a call from his son-in-law, Rakesh Roshan, at 3:19 pm on Saturday, informing him that Surbhi had fainted. “I rushed to the hospital. I didn’t realize she had been shot until half an hour later when I was told there were pellets in her head. Six bullets were fired. I suspect foul play,” he said.

Surprisingly, information about the incident was relayed to the police almost two hours after it occurred, raising questions about the delay. Despite the proximity of a training session taking place next to Surbhi’s chamber, no one reported hearing gunshots.

Husband’s Rise to Wealth and Murky Disputes

Rakesh Roshan, Surbhi’s husband, has also come under scrutiny. Once a fourth-grade hospital employee, Roshan rose to prominence by leveraging government medical schemes to generate substantial profits. His growing influence in the hospital lobby eventually led him to establish his own hospital and enter the real estate business.

Sources indicate that tensions between Roshan and Surbhi had been escalating, reportedly due to the frequent visits of a female doctor to the hospital. While no one has spoken openly about this, the police are investigating this angle.

Celebration Turned Tragic

A day before the murder, Surbhi had celebrated her son’s birthday with her family. Photos from the event show Surbhi, Rakesh, and their two children together. The contrast between the joyous occasion and the subsequent tragedy has left the family in shock.

Insider Conspiracy Under Police Lens

Police believe the hospital’s response after the incident has deepened suspicions of an internal conspiracy. Bloodstains from the scene were cleaned before the police arrived, and no suspicious persons were reported entering or leaving the premises. The silence of the hospital staff has only added to the mystery.
