Former President Ram Nath Kovind Pays Tribute to Acharya Kishore Kunal, Calls for Memorial in His Honour
Patna: Former President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday visited the residence of the late Acharya Kishore Kunal in Patna to pay tribute and meet his family members.
Kovind arrived at Kunal’s residence on Goshala Road in the evening, where he first offered floral tributes to an oil painting of the late religious scholar and social reformer. He then met Kunal’s wife, Anita Kunal, his son, Sayan Kunal, daughter-in-law, Shambhavi, and other family members.
During his visit, the former president suggested that a memorial should be built in honour of Acharya Kishore Kunal to preserve his legacy of humanitarian work and charitable efforts in the field of religion. He proposed that the memorial should serve as a space for satsangs and spiritual seminars, keeping alive Kunal’s vision of integrating religious teachings with public service.
Kovind praised Kunal’s contributions through the Mahavir Mandir Trust, describing them as exemplary. He also offered words of comfort to Anita Kunal, acknowledging her resilience, and encouraged Sayan Kunal to continue his father’s philanthropic work. He enquired about the well-being of his daughter-in-law, Shambhavi, who is also a Member of Parliament.
On the occasion, Sayan Kunal presented Kovind with a copy of his father’s book Daman Takshakon Ka. The former president spent about an hour at the residence, interacting with close relatives of the late Acharya Kishore Kunal.
