Rajgir: Rajgir Zoo Safari organised a ‘Freedom Bird Walk’ on Sunday to raise awareness about avian diversity and wildlife conservation among the public, particularly young people and nature enthusiasts.
The initiative brought together 15 participants, including college students, job aspirants and teachers. The walk was led by Ajay Kumar, deputy director, and Rajkumar Mandal, forest guard.
During the approximately 90-minute walk, participants observed around 16 to 20 bird species in the natural surroundings of the safari.

The participants had an opportunity to observe birds closely and learn about their behaviour and natural habitats.
Among the species spotted were the hornbill, oriental magpie-robin, kingfisher and rose-ringed parakeet.
The organisers said the activity was intended to encourage greater appreciation of wildlife and strengthen public awareness about the importance of conserving natural habitats.
Participants Share Feedback
A feedback session was held at the end of the walk in the presence of Ram Sundar M, director of Rajgir Zoo Safari.
Participants described the experience as an informative opportunity to understand nature and the diversity of birdlife.
The safari said such initiatives are aimed at encouraging greater public engagement with wildlife conservation while helping participants develop a closer understanding of the natural environment.
