Gaya/Patna: A high-level coordination meeting was convened at Gaya Ji Airport on Thursday to review security arrangements ahead of the proposed visit of the President of Myanmar.
The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankhar and attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar, Airport Director Awadhesh Kumar and CISF Assistant Commandant V. S. Thakur.
Officials from the district administration, local police, intelligence agencies, immigration, customs, airline operators and airport authorities also participated in the review.
CISF Conducts Extensive Mock Drill
Following the meeting, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) carried out a large-scale mock drill and operational exercise within the airport premises to assess the effectiveness of existing security arrangements and the response readiness of various agencies.
The exercise simulated several emergency scenarios, including:
- Potential terrorist attacks
- Forced entry attempts
- Hostage situations
- Security breaches in sensitive airport zones
Officials said the objective was to evaluate coordination and rapid-response capabilities under high-risk conditions.
Quick Response Teams and Bomb Squad Deployed
During the drill, the CISF’s:
- Quick Response Team (QRT)
- Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS)
- Dog Squad
jointly conducted strategic exercises across the airport complex.
The operation tested multiple aspects of airport security preparedness, including:
- Rapid emergency response
- Area cordoning procedures
- Identification of suspicious activities
- Passenger evacuation and safety measures
- VVIP security protocols
- Coordination among different security agencies
Focus on Multi-Layered Security During VVIP Visit
Officials said the primary aim of the exercise was to ensure that robust and multi-layered security arrangements remain fully operational during the proposed visit of the Myanmar President.
Authorities stated that all participating agencies were being prepared to undertake swift and coordinated action in the event of any unforeseen emergency or security threat.
