Gayaji: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recovered a gold-coloured metallic object weighing approximately 110 grams from a passenger’s handbag during security screening at Gayaji Airport. The passenger, travelling from Delhi to Kolkata via Gayaji on an IndiGo flight, was later taken into custody by Income Tax officials in Kolkata after failing to produce valid documents for the item.
The object was detected during an X-ray scan at the domestic security hold area before boarding. CISF personnel subsequently inspected the handbag and recovered a biscuit-shaped metallic object.
Officials had not confirmed whether the object was genuine gold or another metal by late last night. Its composition is expected to be established through further investigation.
