Patna: Google has launched the Gemini app for Windows, giving users direct access to its AI tools while working on their computers. The app is available worldwide for devices running Windows 10 and Windows 11.
One of the quickest ways to use Gemini is through the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut. Pressing the combination opens Gemini over the user’s current workspace.
Users can use the shortcut to fact-check documents, brainstorm presentation titles or get assistance with other tasks without leaving the application they are working in.
Managing Multi-Step Tasks
The Windows app also brings capabilities familiar to Gemini users on mobile devices. Users can assign more complex, multi-step tasks to Gemini Spark, described as Google’s personal AI agent.
For example, Gemini can extract information from Gmail and Google Drive and use it to prepare a project summary. This is intended to simplify tasks that require information from multiple sources.
Images And Videos On Desktop
The app also provides creative tools for generating visual content. Users can create customised images for presentations and generate videos through Gemini Omni, allowing them to work on different types of content within the same desktop environment.
Google said more native desktop capabilities are planned for the Gemini app, indicating that the Windows version will continue to expand beyond its current features.
Availability
The Gemini app is now available worldwide for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Users can download the desktop application through Google’s Gemini desktop page.
