Governor and Chief Minister Extend Chhath Puja Greetings During Riverside Tour at Patna
Patna: In a symbolic display of unity and reverence for Chhath Puja, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlakar and Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar embarked on a steamer journey along the river Ganga, visiting various Chhath Ghats from Nasriganj Ghat at Danapur to Gaighat at Patna City.
During the tour, the dignitaries toured the ghats, extending warm wishes to Chhath devotees and the people of the state. The riverbanks witnessed lakhs of devotees offering prayers to the setting Sun at various ghats along the Ganga, participating in the sacred Arghya ritual. CM Nitish, greeted with raised hands, reciprocated the enthusiastic reception from the devotees.
The Chief Minister has a longstanding tradition of inspecting Chhath Ghats to ensure the provision of adequate facilities for devotees. Under his directives, the administration has diligently worked to enhance convenience and safety measures, striving to eliminate any challenges faced by the people. CM Nitish extended his Chhath Puja greetings to the entire state on this auspicious occasion.
Accompanying the CM during the visit were MLC Lalan Saraf, CM’s advisor Manish Kumar Verma, Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani, Director General of Police, R.S. Bhatti, Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, Santosh Kumar Mall, Secretary to the CM, Anupam Kumar, Patna Divisional Commissioner, Kumar Ravi, and other senior officials.
Prior to the Ghats visit, CM Nitish, joined by close family members, performed the Arghya ritual at his residence at 1 Anne Marg, offering prayers to Sun God, and invoking blessings for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people of the state.
