GST Intelligence Raids Construction Firm SP Singla’s offices in Patna and Mokama

Patna: The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) raided the offices of construction firm SP Singla Constructions Pvt. Ltd. in Patna and Mokama on Saturday over alleged tax evasion. The operation, which lasted from 3 pm to 7 pm, involved a thorough examination of the company’s documents and storage facilities.
Officials had received information regarding tax evasion by the firm, prompting simultaneous raids at its office in Pushpanjali Palace on Boring Road, Patna, and its site office at the Aunta-Simaria Ganga Bridge project in Hathidah. Preliminary findings indicated evidence of tax irregularities.
During the raid, company officials and employees reportedly locked the doors and fled the premises. SP Singla is currently engaged in the construction of a six-lane bridge and the repair of Rajendra Setu in Mokama. A security guard on-site stated that an unidentified government department had conducted the raid, but company officials had already vacated the premises.
Several mobile phones were seized, and company records were scrutinised as part of the investigation. The raid lasted for approximately four hours at both locations.
This is not the first time SP Singla has come under scrutiny. On July 19 last year, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at the company’s offices from Patna to Delhi in connection with a money laundering case. The operation extended to multiple cities, including Panchkula in Haryana.
