Patna: The owner of Patna’s well-known sweet shop chain, Hari Lal Mishthan Bhandar, has been arrested following the recovery of foreign liquor during an Income Tax (IT) raid. The police confirmed on Thursday that Sandeep, the proprietor, was taken into custody after the contraband was found at his residence, Hari Awas, in Buddha Colony.

The IT department had been conducting searches at multiple locations linked to the business when officials discovered the liquor. They immediately alerted the local police, who arrived at the scene, seized the alcohol, and detained Sandeep for questioning.

Sub-Inspector Rana Kumar of Buddha Colony police station confirmed the arrest, stating, “The Income Tax team was conducting a raid at Hari Awas. Upon receiving information about the liquor, the police intervened. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be shared as they emerge.”

Hari Lal Mishthan Bhandar is a household name in Patna, with multiple outlets across the city. The raid has sent shockwaves through the local business community, raising speculation about possible tax irregularities.
