Patna: The Jan Suraj Party (JSUPA), led by Prashant Kishor, is continuing to attract new leaders. On Sunday, Hemant Choubey, the son of former BJP MP Lalmuni Choubey, joined the party along with dozens of his supporters.
Prashant Kishor welcomed Choubey into the party by draping the party’s yellow scarf around him. Kishor said that the move will help strengthen JSUPA in Bihar’s Shahabad region, especially in Kaimur district.
Hemant Choubey, 47, belongs to the Chainpur assembly constituency in Kaimur. His father, Lalmuni Choubey, was a four-time Member of Parliament from the BJP and held influence in the region.
With Choubey’s entry, JSUPA hopes to win over more local support. The party has been seeing a steady trend of small and big leaders leaving their organisations to join Kishor’s movement, which aims to build a new political alternative in Bihar.
