Rajgir/Patna: A chilling tale of betrayal and brutality has rocked the serene town of Rajgir, Nalanda, as police unveiled a horrific gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl. The chilling incident, which transpired on the evening of May 26, saw the minor allegedly lured to a local hotel by her 14-year-old boyfriend, only to be subjected to a heinous crime by him and two of his friends, with the complicity of the hotel owner.
According to police sources, the young victim was taken to a hotel in the bustling Rajgir market by her boyfriend. Unbeknownst to her, two of his friends were already waiting. What followed was a nightmare as all three, including her supposed boyfriend, allegedly perpetrated the horrific act. Disturbingly, the hotel owner reportedly facilitated their monstrous crime, providing the room without any verification.
The traumatizing ordeal came to light late on May 26 when the victim, after finally reaching home, bravely recounted the horrific events to her distraught family. The very next day, on May 27, the family wasted no time in lodging a First Information Report (FIR) at the Rajgir police station, naming the perpetrators.
Swift Action: Accused Nabbed Across Districts
The alleged minor lover and his two adult friends, Neeraj Kumar (19) of Severage Road and Suraj Kumar (19) of Ram Hari Pind, were tracked down and apprehended on Friday, May 30, from Gayaji. Simultaneously, Abhishek Kumar (30) of Shiv Sthan, the complicit hotel owner, was arrested in Rajgir.
Rajgir SHO Raman Kumar detailed the harrowing sequence of events: “The lover called the girl to the hotel, where two youths were already present. All three together gang-raped the girl.” He further confirmed that an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team immediately investigated Hotel Mayur after the incident was reported.
Confessions and Sealed Evidence
The SHO revealed a critical breakthrough in the investigation: “The three accused who carried out the incident had fled to Gaya. Secret information was received on May 30. After this, all three accused were arrested from Gayaji’s Mufassil police station area.” During interrogation, the arrested accused reportedly confessed to the crime and implicated the hotel operator, admitting to his direct assistance. Based on their statements, the hotel operator was promptly taken into custody, and the hotel room where the crime occurred has been sealed as evidence.
Police also highlighted the hotel owner’s negligence, stating he did not maintain a guest register and provided a room to a minor without any identification, thus making him an accessory to the crime. Investigations further revealed that the minor lovers, both eighth-grade students, had known each other for a year and were in a relationship. The other two adult accused are friends of the minor boy. Neeraj has passed Intermediate education, while Suraj Kumar is a 10th-grade student.
