Patna: The ICAR–Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER) in Patna organised an awareness session on the New Labour Codes on Wednesday to familiarise officers, employees and contractual workers with the key provisions of India’s recently implemented labour reforms.
The programme was conducted by Sachin Kumar, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Patna, and P.K. Pankaj, Labour Enforcement Officer (Central), Patna-II, who also holds charge of Gaya, Dehri-on-Sone and Daltonganj under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Focus On Compliance And Worker Welfare
During the interactive session, the resource persons outlined the objectives and major provisions of the New Labour Codes, explaining their implications for both employers and employees.
The discussions covered topics including:
- Statutory compliance
- Social security provisions
- Occupational safety and health
- Industrial relations
- Wage-related reforms
The officials also responded to participants’ queries and stressed the importance of complying with the new legal framework to promote transparent, safe and equitable workplaces.
Institute Officials Participate
The programme was attended by Pushpanayak, Chief Administrative Officer (Senior Grade); Rajat Kumar Das, Finance and Accounts Officer; Prabha Kumari, Administrative Officer; Assistant Administrative Officers, the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO), administrative staff and contractual workers of the institute.
Participants actively engaged in the discussions on the implementation of the new labour laws.
