Bodh Gaya: IIM Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PSI India to strengthen public health education through its two-year MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management, launched in 2023. The agreement, finalized on Tuesday, aims to enhance academic and professional opportunities in the healthcare sector, focusing on corporate hospitals, public health, digital health, pharmaceuticals, health insurance, and healthcare consulting.

The collaboration was formalized in the presence of Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, and Mukesh Kumar Sinha, Executive Director of PSI India. Both leaders highlighted the strategic significance of this partnership, emphasizing its potential to foster academic excellence and drive social impact. Dr. Sahay described the agreement as a forward-thinking step to bridge industry and academia, while Sinha lauded the partnership as an opportunity to address pressing public health challenges.

Prof. Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of the MBA (Hospital and Healthcare Management) programme, termed the MoU as pivotal for students, enabling them to engage with public health issues and develop actionable solutions. The programme’s distinctive four-month summer internship adds practical depth, preparing students for industry demands.

Under the agreement, PSI India will offer subject matter experts to deliver specialized lectures and facilitate community immersion, internships, and placement opportunities for students. The collaboration also includes joint research initiatives, and co-hosting events such as roundtable discussions, seminars, workshops, and conferences, aimed at knowledge-sharing and innovation in public health.

IIM Bodh Gaya continues to take strategic steps toward establishing itself as a hub for healthcare management education and research. This MoU represents a significant stride in integrating industry expertise with academic rigor, ensuring students are well-equipped to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector.
