Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) on 20 February hosted the NICE IIM Mumbai Crossword & Quiz Contest in collaboration with Extra-C, drawing enthusiastic participation from students on campus.
The event was organised under the guidance of Prof Manoj Tiwari, director of IIM Mumbai, whose support for academic and co-curricular initiatives has been central to the institute’s learning culture. The competition was held in the presence of Prof Rauf Iqbal, associate dean, and Prof Utpal Chattopadhyay, area chair, who encouraged participants throughout the programme.
The crossword contest, conducted by Mr Rehan, tested analytical thinking and vocabulary skills, while the quiz contest, led by Mr Meghashyam Shirodkar, challenged teams across a range of subjects in a competitive format.
In the crossword competition, Pragati Tripathi and Vrinda Bansal secured first place. Praharsh Aharwal and Amrita Kesh were runners-up, followed by Srishti Garg and Parul Sameer Birewal in third place.
The same winning pair, Tripathi and Bansal, also claimed the top prize in the quiz contest, achieving a rare double victory. Rimjhim Chaturvedi and Ritika Datar finished as runners-up, while Partha Lele and Prayag Agarwal secured third position.
Organisers described the performance of the female participants as a highlight of the event, noting their confidence and strong showing across both contests.
