Patna: Parts of Bihar witnessed light fog early in the morning on Tuesday, but the weather turned clear as the day progressed, bringing sunshine and a return to normal conditions. Districts such as Samastipur and Nalanda saw early morning sun, while Madhepura and a few other areas experienced dense fog during the early hours.
Although cold westerly winds are still blowing, the intensity of winter is gradually weakening compared to January. Temperatures across the state are on a slow upward trend, and daytime warmth is becoming more noticeable.
Why is Bihar Experiencing Dry and Warmer Weather?
According to meteorologists, the main reason behind the current dry weather pattern in Bihar is the weak impact of western disturbances and reduced rainfall activity. With fewer clouds and minimal rain, sunlight reaches the surface more directly, leading to a gradual rise in temperatures.
Experts also point out that the effect of cold westerly winds is decreasing. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has earlier stated that cold and fog are more intense when clouds, moisture, and cold winds are active together. As these factors weaken, winter conditions ease.
Weather scientists add that by the second week of February, North India typically starts moving toward normal seasonal conditions. As the sun’s intensity increases and days become longer, daytime temperatures rise, while mild cold can still be felt in the mornings and evenings.
No Major Weather Change Expected Soon
The IMD has said there is little chance of any major weather shift in Bihar in the coming days. The state is likely to continue experiencing dry weather, with light fog possible in the mornings.
Over the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded at around 8°C. Dense fog was reported in Madhepura during the early hours on Tuesday.
