Gaya: The Indian Army will organise an Agniveer recruitment rally at Bodh Gaya from January 4 to March 20, during which candidates from 11 districts of South Bihar will be selected. Preparations for the rally were reviewed during a joint coordination meeting held at the district collectorate on Tuesday.
The meeting was convened to ensure effective coordination between the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) and various departments of the district administration. Colonel R. Madhan Mohan, Director (Recruitment), ARO, briefed department heads and key stakeholders on the recruitment rally procedures and outlined the support required from state and district-level agencies for smooth conduct of the event.
Officials said around 7,000 youths will be selected as Agniveers through the rally. The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar, who reviewed the preparedness of different administrative departments and assured full cooperation to ensure the successful execution of the recruitment process.
The district magistrate directed all concerned departments to complete preparations within the stipulated timeline, maintain seamless coordination with the Army Recruiting Office, and ensure a safe and conducive environment for all participating candidates.
The Agniveer recruitment rally will see participation of approximately 7,000 male candidates from 11 districts of South Bihar, including Jehanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Rohtas and Kaimur, among others.
In addition, the ARO Gaya will also organise a Women Military Police (WMP) recruitment rally for candidates from Bihar and Jharkhand. A large turnout of women candidates is expected, and the dates for the WMP rally will be announced separately, officials said.
