Patna: India’s first six-lane bridge, connecting Patna and Begusarai in Bihar, is set to be completed by March. During an inspection of the construction site, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha reviewed the progress and directed officials to expedite the remaining work. The project, now in its final stages, is expected to boost connectivity and ease traffic in the region.
The bridge is part of a dream project envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and utilizes state-of-the-art technology. Once operational, it will significantly enhance road connectivity between the North-East and other parts of India. Officials emphasized that it will streamline traffic flow and contribute to regional development.
Project Manager Pramod Pandey informed that some work on the railway overbridge (ROB) is pending. One lane of the bridge is expected to be operational by February, with both lanes fully open to the public by March. Efforts are underway to complete the remaining work on the approach road as soon as possible.
During the inspection, officials from the construction company provided technical details about the project. The Deputy Chief Minister urged the team to maintain quality while ensuring timely completion, highlighting the bridge’s importance for regional connectivity and economic growth.
The six-lane bridge is set to become a landmark infrastructure project, improving access to Bihar and linking the region with other parts of the country.
