Ranchi/Patna: A tyre puncture in an IndiGo aircraft triggered a brief panic and disrupted travel plans at Birsa Munda Airport on Friday, after a scheduled flight from Ranchi to Patna was grounded due to a technical fault detected during routine checks.
The aircraft, which had arrived from Kolkata around 3:15 pm, was preparing to operate the Ranchi–Patna–Lucknow route when a problem was identified in its front wheel during inspection on the apron. The fault prompted the airline to cancel the flight before departure.
Passengers bound for Patna were subsequently transported by taxi, while those scheduled to fly onward to Lucknow were accommodated on a connecting flight via Delhi, according to an IndiGo spokesperson.
While no injuries were reported, the sudden cancellation caused confusion and inconvenience among the passengers.
