Saharsa: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced an exciting opportunity for devotees and travel enthusiasts to explore major religious destinations across South India. A special “Bharat Gaurav” train will depart from Saharsa on December 5, taking passengers on a 12-night, 13-day pilgrimage tour covering several iconic temples and spiritual landmarks.
During a press conference held at a private hotel in Saharsa, IRCTC Regional Manager Rajesh Kumar Sinha said the initiative aims to promote religious tourism and foster cultural unity among people from different parts of India.
Major Boarding Stations and Destinations
The train will have boarding facilities at Saharsa, Nirmali, Jhanjharpur, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, and Prayagraj Chheoki.
Passengers will visit several renowned pilgrimage sites, including:
- Tirupati Balaji Temple (Andhra Pradesh)
- Rameswaram Jyotirlinga (Tamil Nadu)
- Meenakshi Temple, Madurai
- Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari
- Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram
- Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, Srisailam
Comfortable Journey with Inclusive Facilities
The Bharat Gaurav Train will feature specially modified coaches equipped with a canteen, security arrangements, and a small onboard temple for daily worship.
A total of 688 seats are available, and more than 50 percent have already been booked, Sinha said. The fare structure includes travel, accommodation, meals, darshan arrangements, and basic health facilities:
- Economic Sleeper: ₹25,620 per person
- Third AC: ₹35,440 per person
- Second AC: ₹49,175 per person
