Jamui Police Seize 900 Litres of Liquor, Arrest Two Smugglers Near Jharkhand Border

Jamui: In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor trade, Jamui Police arrested two liquor smugglers and seized 900 litres of English liquor from a concealed compartment in an oil tanker in the Garhi police station area, near the Jharkhand border.

Superintendent of Police Madan Kumar Anand informed that police had received intelligence about a large consignment of English liquor being smuggled through a pickup oil tanker from Jharkhand into Bihar. Acting swiftly, a police team was formed to intercept the vehicle.

During the search operation, officers discovered a hidden cellar in the tanker filled with 900 litres of liquor. Two individuals were taken into custody on the spot. The arrested men have been identified as Sohan Kumar, a resident of Pashhara under the Naokothi police station in Begusarai district, and Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Pansala under the Lakho police station.

“During initial interrogation, the accused revealed that the consignment was headed to Lakhisarai via Ropabel,” the SP said.

The operation was carried out by a team including Garhi SHO Aniruddh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Nitish Kumar, and personnel from the armed forces.
