Patna: Prashant Kishor, the driving force behind the Jan Suraaj Party, has been on a fast unto death since January 2, demanding justice for BPSC students. Despite his deteriorating health, which led to his admission to the ICU at Medanta Hospital on January 7, Kishor has continued his hunger strike. On January 6, he was briefly arrested but was released on bail the same evening.
In light of the ongoing crisis, a Jan Suraaj delegation led by party president Manoj Bharti met the Governor at Raj Bhavan at 5:30 PM. The delegation included Manoj Bharti, Kishor Kumar, Sarwar Ali, Sitaram Yadav, Lalan Yadav, N.P. Mandal, and Arvind Singh. The meeting aimed to present the demands of the protesting BPSC students and discuss the ongoing movement.
After the meeting, Manoj Bharti addressed the media and shared details about their conversation with the Governor. Bharti stated that the Governor listened attentively and thoroughly reviewed the memorandum presented by the delegation. His first concern was Prashant Kishor’s health, to which the delegation informed him that Kishor remains in isolation at the ICU but is still fasting.
The Governor expressed sympathy for the students’ demands, acknowledging their legitimacy. He also suggested arranging a meeting between the students’ delegation and the Chief Minister to address the issues. However, he emphasized his concern for Prashant Kishor’s health and appealed to him to end his hunger strike for his well-being.
