Bihar/Jharkhand: Rail passengers travelling on the Jasidih-Jhajha route will need to plan their journeys carefully over the next three months. Eastern Railway has announced changes to train operations due to track maintenance on the Madhupur-Jasidih section under the Asansol division.

The maintenance block will remain in effect on selected dates from October 4 to December 27, 2026. As a result, the Jasidih-Jhajha-Jasidih MEMU service, train numbers 63565 and 63566, will remain cancelled on specified days during this period.

The cancellations may affect daily commuters, students, workers and other passengers who depend on the MEMU service for short-distance travel between stations in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Train Cancelled for 11 Days in October

According to the reported schedule, the MEMU service will be cancelled for 11 days in October.

The changes come during the festive season, when passenger movement typically increases due to Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath. Passengers who regularly use the route should check whether their intended journey falls on a cancellation date before leaving for the station.

13 Days of Cancellation in November

The train will also remain cancelled for 13 days in November, according to the reported schedule.

With passengers travelling for festivals and family visits during this period, the disruption could require commuters to make alternative arrangements. Travellers should confirm the status of both the onward and return services before finalising their plans.

MEMU Service to Remain Cancelled for 12 Days in December

The maintenance-related cancellations will continue into December. Train numbers 63565 and 63566 are scheduled to remain cancelled for 12 days during the month.

In total, the reported schedule accounts for 36 days of cancellations across October, November and December. The train will not remain suspended throughout the entire period; cancellations will apply only on designated dates.

Long-Distance Express Trains Not Reported Cancelled

The available report indicates that long-distance mail and express trains have not been cancelled under this maintenance plan.

However, passengers should remain alert to possible operational changes, including delays or revised timings, if required during the maintenance work. The latest official railway notices should be checked for any additional changes.

How Passengers Can Check Train Status

Passengers travelling through Jasidih, Madhupur, Jhajha and nearby stations should verify their train’s running status before starting their journey.

Travellers can:

  • Check the latest train status through official Indian Railways information services.
  • Contact the railway enquiry helpline at 139.
  • Confirm cancellation dates before booking connecting transport or planning return journeys.
  • Check for any revised timings or additional operational notices.

Check Before Travelling During the Festive Season

The maintenance work is intended to support railway track upkeep, but the scheduled cancellations may inconvenience passengers who rely on the MEMU service for regular travel.

Since the train will be cancelled only on selected dates, passengers should consult the official date-wise schedule rather than assume that the service is suspended throughout October, November and December.
