Ara: A burglary took place at the second residence of Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh in Ara, Bihar, late on Monday night. The intruders broke in through a window and made off with jewellery worth an estimated Rs. 15 lakh, 30 rifle bullets, and Rs. 15,000 in cash.

The house, located in New Maruti Nagar under the jurisdiction of Nagar police station, is occupied by Singh’s in-laws. According to family members, only Singh’s mother-in-law and father-in-law were present in the home at the time of the break-in, and both were asleep in a separate room when the incident occurred.

The theft was discovered on Tuesday morning. “The door was not opening from inside, so I came over,” said Singh’s elder brother, Ranu Singh, who has filed a first information report (FIR) with the local police. “It was later found that the thieves had used a screwdriver to open the window and taken away jewellery, ammunition, and cash.”

Pawan Singh, who was informed of the incident by his brother, has reportedly spoken to the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Bhojpur about the matter.

In a statement to local media, Kalavati Devi, Singh’s mother-in-law, detailed the stolen items, which included two bracelets, a Lakshmi chain, a Nawabi chain, a mangalsutra, two coins, two rings, and four pairs of bangles. “When I tried to open the door in the morning, it wouldn’t budge. That’s when my husband stepped outside to check, and we realised the window had been forced open,” she said.

Although the house also houses a recording studio belonging to Pawan Singh, it remained untouched during the incident. “Thankfully, the rifle itself was not taken, only the bullets,” said Ranu Singh.
