J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Pays Tribute to Acharya Kishore Kunal in Patna

Patna: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, visited the residence of late Acharya Kishore Kunal on Goshala Road, Patna, on Tuesday evening to pay his respects. Sinha spent over half an hour with Anita Kunal, Sayan Kunal, and other close family members of the former IPS officer and religious scholar.

During his visit, Sinha garlanded an oil painting of Acharya Kishore Kunal as a tribute. Speaking on the occasion, he described Kunal as a towering figure whose contributions as an IPS officer and philanthropist remain exemplary. He praised Kunal’s efforts in integrating religion with charity through the Mahavir Temple Trust, which funds nine charitable hospitals, including the Mahavir Cancer Institute.

Sinha also inquired about the construction progress of the Virat Ramayan Mandir, a grand temple project initiated by Kunal. Sayan Kunal informed him that the piling work was completed, and the upper structure was now under construction, with the project expected to be completed as per Kunal’s vision.

Additionally, Sinha was briefed on the Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital, India’s first dedicated paediatric cancer hospital, being built in Bochachak, Phulwarisharif, Patna. The foundation stone was laid by Acharya Kishore Kunal on December 12, with the blessings of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Both the Virat Ramayan Mandir and Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital are projects undertaken by the Mahavir Mandir Trust, continuing Kunal’s legacy of service and devotion.
