Patna: District Magistrate of Patna, Dr Thiyagarajan S.M., inspected several important development projects in the city, following promises made by the Chief Minister during the Pragati Yatra on February 21. The projects, worth more than Rs 10,871 crore, were quickly approved by the State Government and are now being implemented.
The inspection covered areas from Didarganj to Bhadraghat, including JP Ganga Path, Ashok Rajpath, and Patna Sahib Railway Station. One of the main projects is the widening of the old Ganga Path road from Gaighat to Didarganj, which will cost over Rs 158 crore. This 7.8 km road will be expanded to four lanes to reduce traffic jams in Patna City.
Another key project is the construction of a new down ramp from JP Ganga Path at Gaighat. Currently, vehicles have to go in the opposite lane to exit the road, causing jams and accidents. The new ramp, costing Rs 61.95 crore, will solve this problem and make traffic smoother and safer.
The historic Mangal Talab in Patna City will also be renovated with Rs 14.05 crore. The plan includes a walking area, toilets, seating, greenery, and other tourist-friendly features. In addition, a large multi-level parking facility worth Rs 99.26 crore will be built near Takht Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurudwara to help the many visitors and devotees who come every day. The District Magistrate said all these works are being closely monitored and will be completed on time to improve the lives of residents and attract more tourists.
