Jyoti Singh, Wife of Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh, Eyes Bihar Assembly Elections
Patna: Jyoti Singh, wife of Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh, has announced her intention to contest in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking to journalists in Dehri, part of the Karakat Lok Sabha constituency, on Friday, she expressed her readiness to enter the fray.
“If I get the blessings of the people, I am ready to contest from any assembly constituency,” said Jyoti Singh. “If I do not receive a ticket from any political party, I will not shy away from contesting as an independent candidate.”
While Jyoti Singh has not officially declared her chosen constituency, speculation is rife that she may run from the Nabinagar assembly seat within the Karakat parliamentary constituency. Her political ambitions follow her husband Pawan Singh’s independent candidacy in the Karakat Lok Sabha constituency during last year’s general elections, where he finished second.
Jyoti Singh played a prominent role in her husband’s campaign during the Lok Sabha elections and has since maintained a consistent presence in the region, engaging in public relations activities across various assembly constituencies in Karakat. Her growing connection with voters has fueled discussions about her potential candidacy in the assembly elections.
Pawan Singh, a prominent figure in the Bhojpuri film industry, married Jyoti Singh in 2018. The couple’s personal life made headlines when Jyoti Singh filed a court case with serious allegations against Pawan Singh, leading to a divorce petition in the family court. However, after court-mandated counseling, the couple resolved their differences and decided to stay together.
Since then, the couple has appeared publicly on several occasions. Jyoti Singh recently took to social media to wish her husband a happy birthday on January 5, sharing a message from Ballia.
