Karnataka Secretariat Emerges Champion as Civil Services Cultural Fest Ends in Patna

Patna: The curtains closed on the ‘All India Civil Services Music, Dance and Short Drama Competition 2024-25’ today at the Urja Auditorium in Patna. The seven-day event, organized by the Bihar Secretariat Sports Foundation under the guidance of the Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board, showcased the artistic talents of civil servants from across India.

The closing ceremony featured a vibrant display of cultural performances, culminating in the announcement of winners across various categories.

Team Karnataka emerged as the overall champion, impressing the judges with their diverse and captivating presentations. Gujarat secured the second position, while Maharashtra claimed third place.

Individual winners included:

  • Short Drama: Shashi Bala (Central Secretariat, Delhi) took first place, followed by Snehlata (Haryana Secretariat) and Aditya Sa Desai (Maharashtra Secretariat).
  • Best Drama: “Univaanchi Goshtha” by RSB Mumbai won top honors, with “Mahatma Bam” (Gujarat Secretariat) and “Kahani Khatam Kahan Hui” (Central Secretariat, Delhi) securing second and third.
  • Best Actor: Paresh N. Walavalkar (RSB Mumbai) for “Yunivanchi Gosht”.
  • Best Actress: Samridhi Patil (RSB Mumbai) for “Yunivanchi Gosht”.
  • Hindustani Classical Instrumental: Suyog Ruikar (Maharashtra Secretariat).
  • Carnatic Classical Instrumental: Karthik Bharadwaj M.S. (Karnataka Secretariat).
  • Carnatic Classical Vocal: Kishore Kumar H.S. (Karnataka Secretariat).
  • Classical Dance: Reji Anoop (Central Secretariat).
  • Western Dance: Ravi Kumar (Bihar Secretariat).
  • Folk Dance (Solo): Aishwarya Darshan (RSB Kochi).

Rahul Kumar, Secretary of the Organizing Committee, expressed pride in Bihar hosting the event after 22 years and praised the efforts of the organizing committee.

Organizing Committee Chairman and Secretary of the Art, Culture, and Youth Department, Pranav Kumar, said, “It is a great honor for Bihar to receive this opportunity, and we deeply appreciate it. Despite being government servants, the performance you have delivered is truly remarkable. Your talent is undeniable, and the dedication you have shown is commendable. Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department and Cabinet Secretariat Department, Dr. S. Siddharth, said, “Congratulations to all who participated in this program, and special congratulations to those who won awards. Your skill and talent are truly commendable.
