Purnia: Kashish Kapoor from Purnia has entered the popular reality show Bigg Boss 18 as a wild card contestant. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan personally welcomed Kashish into the house, marking a major milestone in her career. Prior to this, Kashish had gained recognition as a finalist on MTV’s dating reality show Splitsvilla 15.

Kashish, a passionate fan of Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, was so inspired by her that she changed her surname from Singh to Kapoor. Her admiration for Kareena dates back to her childhood when, at the age of two, she would dance to the tune of Kareena and Hrithik Roshan’s song Pagli Si Deewani Si. By the fourth grade, Kashish had already made up her mind to follow in Kareena’s footsteps, vowing to make her own name famous as Kashish Kapoor.

Kashish’s journey to success was far from easy. Her family, including her parents, Pawan Kumar Singh and Sangeeta Devi, and her grandmother, Nirmala Devi, are overjoyed with her achievements, but they recall the challenges she faced. Coming from a small town and a simple family, Kashish had to endure societal pressure and criticism, with many people dissuading her parents from supporting her dreams. However, Kashish remained determined and paid no heed to the negativity.

After completing her Mass Communication degree in 2021, Kashish had to struggle for three years to break into the entertainment industry. Despite the hurdles, she found success on social media, amassing over 600,000 followers. Her determination to follow her dream never wavered, and her family’s support played a crucial role in her success.

Kashish’s career began with a small advertisement, but she quickly gained momentum. During her third year of university, she balanced her studies with an anchoring job at Jagran Solutions, working from morning till late afternoon to support herself. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, she remained focused on her career and began receiving offers for anchoring and hosting gigs.

Her big break came with MTV’s popular dating show Splitsvilla 15, hosted by Sunny Leone and Tanuj Virwani. Kashish’s performance on the show was impressive, and she walked away with ₹10 lakh in prize money. Her success continued, and she went on to anchor several high-profile events, including the 36th National Games in Gujarat.

Kashish’s recent achievement is her wild card entry into Bigg Boss 18. Her mother, Sangeeta Devi, shared that Kashish called the family on Chhoti Diwali with the exciting news. “She was so happy, and the moment we heard, our Diwali celebrations became even more joyful,” said Sangeeta. Kashish’s grandmother, Nirmala Devi, expressed her pride, saying, “My last wish is to see my granddaughter shine on TV.”

Releasing a promotional video, Kashish addressed her fans: “Your daughter from Purnia, Bihar, has reached the Bigg Boss 18 house through hard work and dedication. But to move forward, I need all of your love and support. Please vote for me on Colors TV and Jio Cinema, and help me bring the Bigg Boss trophy home.”
